Dhillukku Dhuddu 2 Movie Review

Dhillukku Dhuddu 2 Movie Review

When Santhanam and director Rambhala collaborated for the first ever big screen venture ‘Dhillukku Dhuddu’, the expectations shot up bigger owing to their incessant amusements they offered through ‘Lollu Sabha’ series. Now with them having teamed up for ‘Dhillukku Dhuddu 2’, the anticipations weren’t fading anywhere. The film is produced by Santhanam’s home banner Handmade Films with Trident Arts R Ravindran releasing it.

The film opens with a beautiful psychiatrist named Maya (Shraddha Shivdas) having an unbearable issue. The ones who propose her are eventually beaten terribly by a supernatural force. Things get complicated with a chain of hilarious and supernatural events when an auto-rickshaw driver Viji (Santhanam) is the next one to propose her.

There’s a common belief as in accordance to the previous cases, where the second installments fail to deliver the same impact as the first one. We have come across so many films of such instances in Tamil industry, especially in 2018. However, Dhillukku Dhuddu stands out to be an exception, where the entire team has worked dedicatedly in bringing up a much more enhanced package. As promised prior to release, Rambhala and his team of writers have come up with something different in humorous quotients. The first half swifts with lots of laughter-riot, especially for the witty liners and the second half with lots of slapstick moment too keeps the audiences engaged. If we are looking out for anything on the flip side, there isn’t much to point out, except for the fact that the humour is slightly less in second hour when compared to first one, but the engagement factors doesn’t diminish anywhere.

Santhanam has improvised a lot with his performance and body language in this film. Being a Malayali, Shraddha Shivdas looks appropriate for the role and others have given their best as well. Naan Kadavul Rajendran, Oorvasi and other actors amuse with their laughter too, especially in second half. The songs and BGM by Shabir are decent factors. Thanks to screenwriters for keeping the songs limited and they don’t look as a speed breaker anywhere. Dipak Kumar Pathy has created the perfect feel of eeriness through his cinematography.

On the whole, Dhillukku Dhuddu proves to be a perfect time pass movie for its fun and entertainment factors.
