Kavalai Vendam is an upcoming Tamil film featuring Jiiva and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles, directed by Deekay, who earlier shot to fame with his maiden debut ‘Yaamirukka Bayamey’. The film is produced by RS Infotainment and features musical score by Leon James.

Un Kadhal Irundhaal Podhum

Singers: Armaan Malik & Shashaa Tirupati

Lyrics: Ko Sesha

Usually, a song of this musical genre or style would definitely give no options for music directors to pump up loud and noisy trance style on percussions and other instrumentals. But Leon James has neatly balanced it up with aplomb nature. In fact, you can feel the coolness and visualize the colourful and sangfroid visuals. Very rarely songs do evoke that feel and Leon James has succeeded with this. After her significant ‘Rasaali’ from AR Rahman’s AYM, Shashaa offers refreshing vocalism and so is the magnificent Armaan Malik with his incredibly magical voice.

En Pulse Yethitu Poriye

Singers: Inno Genga, Andrea Jeremiah and ADK

Lyrics: Ko Sesha

Rap Lyrics ADK

It’s a song of complete energy and power-packed beats that gets embellished with a youthful feeling from the rendition of Inno Genga, Andrea Jeremiah and ADK. Especially the rap portions by ADK doesn’t need an analysis for it gets you on the floors to tap the feet.

Nee Tholaindhaayo

Singers: Sid Sriram

Lyrics: Ko Sesha

Sid Sriram is definitely becoming the Arijit  Singh of South Industry for his soulful vocals can pierce into your souls mandatorily. Although, the style of his rendition looks the same as in ‘Ennodu Nee Irundhaal’ from ‘I’, he manages to offer a great feeling. He fits the space well for the pathos of a boy in desperate pursuit of his girl. The interlude portions on Shenai is awesomely done by Leon and his work on maintaining mild instrumentals giving more importance to vocals is a standout element here.

Un Kadhal Irundhaal Podhum (Reprise)

Singer: Vandana Srinivasan

Lyrics: Ko Sesha

The reprise version starts off with mild fortepianos followed by a neat intonation by Vandana Srinivasan. In fact, we would say, this version without beats and just piano-guitars add more feel to the song. Vandana is just brilliant with her vocalisms.

On the whole, Leon James has been improvising his musical proficiencies in every album and this one ‘Kavalai Vendam’ comprises of cool and sangfroid numbers. Every song including the reprised version of Un Kadhal Irundhaal Podhum stands out to be best ones.
