Cha Cha Charey
Singers: Suriya, Karthi, Venkat Prabhu, Premgi, Kharesma Ravichandran
Lyrics: Parthi Bhasker
Much before taking a dive into the analysis of Suriya and Karthi crooning this song ,we need to mention something special about Premgi Amaran. Having been associated with Yuvan Shankar Raja in many albums and of course, his musical family, Premgi Amaran brings up something of his unique style. Although, the song might be regarded as a peppy track, it doesn’t bank on rhythm box and techno beats, but even the vocalists’ rendition of shifting between major and flat notes needs special mention. Of course, for actors like Suriya and Karthi it should have taken a huge effort, though it might sound simple. Premgi Amaran, who is known for remixing Yuvan Shankar Raja’s cherry-pick in Venkat Prabhu album, follows a specific pattern. He shifts from western to local flavour of Kuthu quotient by the end and even this song has a similar impact.
Since, lot of computerizations occurs over the voices and it’s a choral rendition, we don’t see the proper emphasis of Suriya and Karthi.
But overall, the song will be regarded as enjoyable treat, especially for the party animals.
